How the practice method works
Keep the first response visible
A correct first attempt, a correction after an error and a timeout are recorded separately. Reaction time starts when the prompt appears. The regular trainer uses errors and response time to adjust later practice.
Explore, focus, then check
The adaptive continuous algorithm combines error risk (40%), relative latency (35%), forgetting risk (15%) and uncertainty (10%) into a need score. Repeated mistakes can trigger focused practice, followed by a delayed check. Uniform mode uses equal weights during global exploration and retains the focus/check process.
Scores have limits
Need score is not a measured error probability or the exact chance of a prompt appearing next. Selection depends on the eligible range, recent prompts and pending checks. Small samples are tentative; comparison between sessions uses matched conditions and does not prove learning effectiveness.
Pitch does not verify fingering
The microphone checks sounding pitch. It cannot verify which string or fret produced that pitch. Follow the displayed position yourself. The written guitar note is shown one octave above the sounding pitch.
Data and revisions
Practice suggestions use local browser records. Clearing those records resets the evidence available on this device. Algorithm versions and recorded settings distinguish supported comparisons; unknown settings in older data are excluded from comparisons.
